Sablefish Marinade

Vegetable Accompaniments

Method

Marinating the Sablefish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine sake, soy sauce, mirin, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Fish

Place sablefish fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for a stronger flavor.

Roasting the Fish

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 4

    Roast the Sablefish

Remove the sablefish from the marinade and place them on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Preparing the Vegetables

  1. 5

Sauté the Bok Choy and Daikon

In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of sesame oil. Sauté the chopped bok choy and julienned daikon until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Grill the Green Onions

On a grill or grill pan, cook the green onions until they are charred and tender, about 2-3 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  1. 7

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, grated horseradish, and toasted sesame seeds.

Plating

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

On a plate, arrange the roasted sablefish, sautéed bok choy, and daikon. Top with grilled green onions and drizzle with the prepared sauce.
