Preparation and Assembly
1. Cook the Filling
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
2. Add Vegetables
Add sliced onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
3. Cook the Steak
Add the thinly sliced beef steak to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.
4. Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle.
5. Assemble the Calzone
On one half of the dough circle, layer the beef and vegetable mixture, then top with shredded provolone cheese. Fold the other half of the dough over to enclose the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
6. Bake the Calzone
Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the calzone is golden brown.
7. Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve hot.
