Calzone Filling
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bell peppers and mushrooms, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the shredded chicken, sliced ham, cooked sausage, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and let cool.
- 2
Assemble the Calzones
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to form circles. Place a portion of the filling on one half of the circle, then fold over the other half and press the edges to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork to ensure a tight seal.
- 3
Bake the Calzones
Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil and make a few slits for steam to escape. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- 4
Serve
Allow calzones to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
