Nashville Hot Chik’n Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, and half of the paprika and cayenne pepper. Add the Chik’n fillets and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, remaining paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Bread the Chik’n
Remove the Chik’n from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring a good coating.
- 5
Fry the Chik’n
Carefully place the breaded Chik’n fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Make the Nashville Hot Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the hot oil, brown sugar, and vinegar. Stir until well combined.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on each sandwich bun, add lettuce, pickles, and the fried Chik’n fillet. Drizzle the Nashville hot sauce on top before closing the bun.
