Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

Divide the ground beef into four 2oz portions. Form them loosely into balls and season with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, cut the brioche buns in half and toast them on another skillet or under a broiler until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Spread mustard on the bottom of each toasted bun. Place one smashed patty on each bun, then top with housemade chili, coleslaw, and jalapeño BBQ sauce. Finish with the top half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve immediately with extra jalapeño BBQ sauce on the side.
