Method
Prepare the Slaw
- 1
Mix the Slaw Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all ingredients are well coated.
- 2
Chill the Slaw
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assemble the Sandwich
- 3
Spread the BBQ Sauce
Take one slice of whole grain sandwich bread and spread 1 tablespoon of red BBQ sauce and 1 tablespoon of white BBQ sauce evenly on top.
- 4
Add the Turkey
Layer the sliced turkey breast over the BBQ sauce on the bread.
- 5
Add Slaw and Pickles
Take the slaw from the refrigerator and pile a generous amount on top of the turkey. Next, add the sliced pickles on top of the slaw.
- 6
Top the Sandwich
Place the second slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich. Optionally, spread a little more BBQ sauce on the inside of the top slice.
Serve
- 7
Cut and Serve
Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately. Enjoy your turkey sandwich with extra pickles on the side if desired.
