Preparation of Ribs
- 1
Prepping the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Seasoning the Ribs
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar. Rub the olive oil on both sides of the ribs, then apply the seasoning mix generously, ensuring it covers all surfaces.
Cooking the Ribs
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 4
Bake the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil to keep them moist. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender and starts to pull away from the bone.
- 5
Glazing the Ribs
Remove the ribs from the oven and brush the barbecue sauce generously over the top. Return them to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 30 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
