Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the rack of ribs for better flavor absorption. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Making the Dry Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Applying the Dry Rub

Rub the dry mix generously over both sides of the ribs, ensuring an even coat. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 5

    Wrapping the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil. Wrap tightly to create a sealed packet.

  3. 6

    Baking the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  4. 7

    Making the Barbecue Sauce

While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 8

    Finishing the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs. If desired, place the ribs on a hot grill for an additional 10-15 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
