Filling

Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1 cup of granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and cornstarch. Gently toss until the peaches are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.

  3. 5

    Spread Over Filling

Spoon the batter over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not spread it out too much; it will spread as it bakes.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

  2. 7

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Serve warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
