Method
Brewing the Tea
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Steep Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.
- 3
Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, remove the tea bags from the pot. Be careful not to squeeze them, as this can release bitterness.
Sweetening the Tea (if desired)
- 4
Add Sugar
If you want sweet tea, add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the warm tea. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Cooling Down
- 5
Cool the Tea
Allow the tea to come to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or until thoroughly cold.
Serving the Iced Tea
- 6
Prepare Glasses
Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
- 7
Pour Tea
Pour the chilled tea over the ice in each glass.
- 8
Add Enhancements
If desired, add a tablespoon of lemon juice, a few fresh mint leaves, or peach slices for added flavor.
