Ladyfingers

Mascarpone Mixture

For Dusting

Method

Ladyfingers Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.

  2. 2

    Soak Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them too long to avoid sogginess. Place them in a single layer at the bottom of a rectangular dish.

Mascarpone Mixture Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Combine Mascarpone and Cream

Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture and gently fold until well blended.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Then gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assembly and Finishing

  1. 6

    Layer the Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers in the dish. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  2. 7

    Dust with Cocoa

Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and add chocolate shavings if desired.
