Method
Preparation of Salad Base
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold running water. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
Prepare the Parmesan Cheese
Grate the parmesan cheese using a box grater or a food processor until you have about 0.5 cups of grated cheese.
Prepare the Croutons
If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, salt, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Preparation of Caesar Dressing
Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well blended.
Assembling the Salad
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, grated parmesan cheese, and croutons.
Add Dressing
Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad ingredients. Toss gently to coat the lettuce, cheese, and croutons evenly with the dressing.
Serve
Serve the Caesar salad immediately on chilled plates, garnished with additional grated parmesan if desired.
