Method
Preparation of Egg Mixture
- 1
Make the egg batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Soaking the Bread
- 2
Soak the brioche slices
Place the brioche slices into the egg mixture, ensuring each slice is thoroughly coated. Allow them to soak for about 2-3 minutes on each side, letting the bread absorb the mixture.
Cooking the French Toast
- 3
Heat the pan
In a large skillet or griddle, melt the butter over medium heat until it is bubbling but not browned.
- 4
Cook the soaked bread
Carefully place the soaked brioche slices onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Make sure to adjust the heat if necessary to prevent burning.
Serving
- 5
Plate and serve
Once cooked, transfer the French toast to plates. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm.
