Cake Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Oven and Ramekins
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and lightly dust with flour. Place them on a baking sheet.
- 2
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and large egg yolks until the mixture is thick and pale.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, and add the vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
- 5
Add Flour and Salt
Sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
