Extra Sauce (makes ~1 oz)
Method
Extra Sauce (makes ~1 oz)
- 1
Measure
Measure 1 ounce of the prepared sauce into a small clean ramekin or condiment cup. Use a kitchen scale (1 oz = ~28 g) or a 1-ounce measuring cup/spoon.
- 2
Adjust consistency (optional)
If the sauce is very thick and you want a slightly looser texture for easier spreading or drizzling, stir in up to 1 teaspoon olive oil until incorporated and the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
- 3
Season and finish (optional)
If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh basil and 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Taste and add a tiny pinch of salt if needed. Mix thoroughly.
- 4
Serve
Transfer the 1 oz of sauce to a small container for service alongside the dish. Keep covered and refrigerated if not used immediately. Use within 24–48 hours for best quality.
