Method

Chill and prepare

  1. 1

    Confirm soda is chilled

If the canned soda is already chilled (cold to the touch), proceed. If it's at room temperature, chill it in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours or place it in an ice bath for 15–20 minutes until cold.

  2. 2

    Prepare glass and extras (optional)

If you prefer to serve in a glass, select a clean 12–16 oz glass. Add 4 ice cubes to the glass if you want your drink extra cold and diluted slightly. Cut a wedge from a lemon or lime if you want a citrus garnish.

Open and pour

  1. 3

    Tap and open can

Place the chilled can on a flat surface. Gently tap the top of the can with your finger once to reduce foaming. Lift the tab and open the can fully.

  2. 4

    Pour into glass (optional)

If using a glass, tilt the glass to about 45 degrees and pour the soda slowly down the inner side of the glass to reduce foam. Fill to your desired level, leaving about 1/2 inch from the rim. If not using a glass, simply enjoy directly from the can.

Finish and serve

  1. 5

    Garnish and straw (optional)

Garnish the glass with the lemon or lime wedge by placing it on the rim or squeezing a small amount into the soda for flavor. Insert a straw if desired.

  2. 6

Serve immediately. Discard can or recycle when finished. If storing an opened can, transfer remaining soda to a sealed container and refrigerate; consume within 24 hours for best carbonation.
