Add Broth and Seasoning
Gradually add the beef broth to the roux while whisking to prevent lumps. Stir in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the slices of bread lightly. On each slice, layer the thinly sliced roast beef generously. Pour the hot gravy over the beef until well covered.
For the French Fries
- 4
Prepare the Fries
In a deep frying pan or fryer, heat the oil to 180°C (350°F). Once hot, carefully add the frozen French fries in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- 5
Fry the Fries
Fry the French fries for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Season the Fries
While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt to taste.
