Fried Pickles
Spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle chips thoroughly and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices.
- 3
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle chip into the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off, then dredge them in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickle chips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain the Pickles
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
