Burger Patty

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Meat

In a bowl, combine the ground Angus beef with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the seasoned beef into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick and slightly larger than the bun. Make a small indentation in the center to prevent the patty from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Patty

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the beef patty over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bun

Toast the burger bun lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread the honey BBQ sauce on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked patty with melted cheddar on top, followed by crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
