Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle both sides with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary evenly.

Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) for fries.

  2. 4

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 5

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and dry them thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Cook the Fries

In a large heavy pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the dried potato strips in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain. Season with salt to taste.

  2. 7

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Place the seasoned steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness). Remove from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
