Method

Tuna Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Tuna

In a shallow dish, combine olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Place the tuna steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sesame Coating

Spread the sesame seeds on a plate. Remove the marinated tuna from the refrigerator and press each steak into the sesame seeds, coating both sides well.

  3. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated tuna steaks in the pan. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer if desired. Remove from heat.

Garnishing

  1. 4

    Prepare Garnish

While the tuna is searing, chop the green onions finely. Cut the lemon into wedges for serving.

  2. 5

    Plate the Dish

Once the tuna is seared to your liking, slice it into thin pieces. Arrange on a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
