Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Orange Peel

Using a vegetable peeler or a knife, carefully remove the orange peel from the orange, avoiding the white pith as much as possible. You want only the outer zest.

  2. 2

    Make Simple Syrup

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large glass container or bottle, add the Grand Marnier, the prepared orange peel, the cooled simple syrup, and the neutral spirit. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.

  4. 4

    Infuse

Seal the container tightly and let it sit at room temperature for at least 1 week. Shake the container gently every few days to mix the ingredients.

  5. 5

    Strain and Bottle

After 1 week, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the orange peel. Pour the strained liqueur into clean bottles and seal tightly.
