Dough

Cream Cheese Frosting

Method

Making the Dough

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yeast

In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Making the Filling

  1. 5

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. In a separate bowl, melt the butter.

Assembling the Rolls

  1. 6

    Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 7

    Spread the Filling

Spread the melted butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.

  3. 8

    Roll and Cut the Dough

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 even pieces.

  4. 9

    Second Rise

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for an additional 30-45 minutes.

Baking the Rolls

  1. 10

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 11

    Bake the Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Making the Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. 12

    Prepare the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.

Finishing Touches

  1. 13

    Frost the Rolls

Once the rolls are baked and slightly cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting generously over the top.

  2. 14

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your homemade cinnamon rolls!
