Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prep the Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Toppings

Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly and pat them dry. Slice the tomato into 1/4 inch thick rounds and the red onion into thin rings.

Make the Burger Patty

  1. 2

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

After flipping, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and onion rings. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
