Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, the halved lemon, and Old Bay seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the large shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the pot from heat and transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes, then drain and pat them dry.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. 5

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well incorporated. Taste and add salt as needed.

Serving the Shrimp Cocktail

  1. 6

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter or in individual cocktail glasses.

  2. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your refreshing shrimp cocktail!
