Oysters

Garlic Butter

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  2. 2

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Use a brush if necessary.

  3. 3

    Open the Oysters

Using an oyster knife, carefully open each oyster, discarding the top shell. Leave the oyster in the bottom shell and place it on a grill-safe tray.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic and Seasonings

Once melted, stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Grilling Oysters

  1. 6

    Top the Oysters

Spoon a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture over each oyster.

  2. 7

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the oysters.

  3. 8

    Grill the Oysters

Place the tray with the oysters on the grill. Close the lid and grill for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the oysters are cooked through.

  4. 9

    Serve

Remove the oysters from the grill and let them cool slightly. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
