Method

Preparing the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped strawberries, powdered sugar, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth and well combined. Set aside.

Preparing the French Toast

  1. 2

    Whisk the Egg Mixture

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 3

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the strawberry and cream cheese filling on one slice. Top with the other slice to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining slices.

  3. 4

    Cook the French Toast

In a large skillet or griddle, melt the butter over medium heat. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serving the Dish

  1. 5

    Plate and Serve

Remove the cooked stuffed French toast from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, topped with maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, and fresh strawberries for garnish.
