Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the mixed greens. Slice the cucumbers into thin rounds. Cut the red onion into thick slices. Cut the tomatoes in half.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Season the Steak

Rub the NY strip steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust the time according to your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Grilling the Vegetables

  1. 6

    Grill the Red Onion

Place the thick slices of red onion on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until they have grill marks and are tender.

  2. 7

    Roast the Tomatoes

Place the halved tomatoes on the grill, cut side down, and grill for 3-4 minutes until softened and slightly charred.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, add the mixed greens, grilled red onion, grilled tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers.

  2. 9

    Add Blue Cheese

Crumble the blue cheese over the top of the salad.

  3. 10

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain and place it on top of the salad.

  4. 11

    Drizzle with Dressing

Pour the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to combine.
