Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the steak strips and toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated steak strips for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Salad

  1. 3

    Prepare Vegetables

While the steak is resting, slice the red onion into thick rings and the cucumber into half-moon shapes. If using fresh tomatoes, roast them in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes until they are tender.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, grilled red onion, cucumber, roasted tomatoes, and blue cheese. Toss gently to combine the ingredients.

Make the Dressing

  1. 5

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Slice the grilled steak into strips. Serve the salad on a plate, topped with the sliced steak, and drizzle with the balsamic vinaigrette.
