Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix until fully incorporated.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while grilling.
Cooking the Burger
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your woodfire grill to medium-high heat.
- 4
Grill the Patties
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- 5
Add Cheese
In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
Preparing the Toppings
- 6
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the apple-smoked bacon until crispy. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Slice the Tomato
While the bacon is cooking, slice the tomato into rounds.
Assembling the Burger
- 8
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer lettuce, the grilled patty with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
