Method
Preparation of Shrimp
- 1
Clean the Shrimp
Rinse the jumbo shrimp under cold running water to remove any debris or sand.
- 2
Boil the Shrimp
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the cleaned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
- 3
Chill the Shrimp
Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately place them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.
- 4
Peel and Devein
Once cooled, peel the shrimp, removing the shell and tail. Devein if necessary.
Preparation of Cocktail Sauce
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting the flavor according to your preference.
- 7
Chill the Sauce
Cover the cocktail sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
