Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle both sides of the rib-eye steaks with salt and black pepper. Allow to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to help the seasoning penetrate.

  2. 2

    Heat the Skillet

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Add the rib-eye steaks to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

During the last minute of cooking, add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the infused oil and aromatics.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and allow them to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cube the potatoes. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Use a potato masher or fork to mash the potatoes until smooth.

  3. 8

    Add Ingredients

Stir in the butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the sliced rib-eye steak.
