Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the jumbo Gulf shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. If they are not already deveined, carefully devein them by making a shallow cut along the back and removing the dark vein.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Rinse the fresh parsley, shake off excess water, and chop it finely. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the jumbo shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, black pepper, and, if using, red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.

  4. 7

    Add Lemon Juice

Once the shrimp are cooked through, remove the skillet from heat and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly.

  5. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp and mix well. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side if desired.
