Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Base Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the agave syrup, honey, fresh lime juice, and water. Stir well to mix all ingredients thoroughly.

  2. 2

    Heat the Mixture

Place the saucepan over medium heat. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally to ensure that the agave syrup and honey dissolve completely.

  3. 3

    Add Flavoring Ingredients

Once the mixture is simmering, add the cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, chili powder, and salt. Stir well to incorporate the spices into the syrup.

  4. 4

    Simmer and Infuse

Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally.

  5. 5

    Strain the Syrup

After simmering, remove the saucepan from heat. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the syrup into a clean container, discarding the cinnamon stick and any solids.

  6. 6

    Cool and Store

Let the syrup cool to room temperature before transferring it to a jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
