Garlic Aioli

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

  2. 2

    Mix in Other Ingredients

Add the oats, diced red bell pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and egg to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are heated through and slightly crispy on the outside.

Make Garlic Aioli

  1. 5

    Combine Aioli Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns

Optional: Toast the burger buns in the skillet or a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Spread a generous amount of garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place a burger patty on top, followed by a slice of pepper jack cheese, avocado slices, lettuce leaves, and tomato slices.

  3. 8

    Finish Assembly

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
