Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 4

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Add cheese slices on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the lettuce. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns

Optional: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion slices, and your preferred condiments. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot with your choice of sides.
