Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on top of each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce and shake off excess water. Tear into smaller pieces if necessary. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

Burger Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster for added texture. On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the tomato slices. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, and add any optional toppings like pickles, ketchup, or mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  2. 5

    Serve

Serve the cheeseburgers immediately with your favorite side dishes like fries or a salad.
