Steak and Seasoning

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Take the Black Angus sirloin steak and pat it dry with paper towels. Sprinkle both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Prepare the Ingredients

While the steak is resting, slice the ciabatta buns in half. Slice the tomato and red onion, and wash the lettuce.

  2. 5

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

  3. 6

    Build the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each ciabatta bun, layer the sliced steak, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Spread harissa on the top half of the bun.

  4. 7

    Serve

Close the sandwich with the top half of the ciabatta bun, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately with extra harissa on the side.
