Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Combine dry ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cut in butter

Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add milk

Pour in the milk and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the biscuits

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

  1. 7

    Cook sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned, breaking it into small pieces.

  2. 8

    Add flour

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. 9

    Add milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes.

  4. 10

    Season

Add black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and remove from heat.

Eggs and Hashbrowns

  1. 11

    Cook hashbrowns

In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add hashbrowns and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 12

    Cook eggs

In another skillet, cook the eggs to your liking (fried, scrambled, poached) while the hashbrowns are cooking.
