Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the unsalted butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times. Pat or roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

  1. 7

    Cook Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

  2. 8

    Add Flour

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. 9

    Add Milk

Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 10

    Season

Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Keep warm until ready to serve.

Eggs

  1. 11

    Cook Eggs

In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness (sunny-side up, over-easy, etc.).

  2. 12

    Season Eggs

Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Hashbrowns

  1. 13

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel and shred the potatoes using a grater or food processor. Rinse and squeeze out excess moisture.

  2. 14

    Cook Hashbrowns

In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the shredded potatoes, flattening them into an even layer. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side.

  3. 15

    Season Hashbrowns

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
