Patty Preparation

Prepare the Beef Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

Form the Patty
Shape the beef mixture into a single patty approximately 1-inch thick. Ensure the patty is slightly larger than the burger bun, as it will shrink while cooking.

Flip the Patty
Carefully flip the patty and place a slice of pepper jack cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the cheese melts and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Prepare the Jalapeños
Slice the jalapeños into thin rounds. You can remove the seeds for a milder flavor or leave them for extra heat.

Slice the Tomato
While the patty is cooking, slice the tomato into thick slices and set aside.

Assemble the Burger
On the bottom half of the burger bun, spread the Duke's® Mayonnaise. Place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the grilled onions, jalapeños, lettuce, and tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
