Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the Australian striploin steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil and season generously with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over medium-high heat until it’s hot.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Add the steak to the hot pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, until a golden-brown crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak and add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter.

  6. 6

    Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Cook to your desired doneness (about 130°F for medium-rare).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your choice of sides.
