Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the pound of large shrimp and 1 tsp of salt. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque.

  2. 2

    Cool and Peel

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. After a few minutes, drain the shrimp and peel them, removing the shells and tails.

  3. 3

    Marinate Shrimp

Drizzle 2 tbs of lemon juice over the peeled shrimp, tossing them gently to coat. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the remoulade sauce.

Remoulade Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tbs of Dijon mustard, 1 tbs of ketchup, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of hot sauce, 1 tsp of paprika, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of onion powder.

  2. 5

    Mix Thoroughly

Using a whisk or a fork, mix all the ingredients in the bowl until well combined and smooth. Make sure there are no lumps.

  3. 6

    Season the Sauce

Stir in 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 2 tbs of chopped fresh parsley into the sauce. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine Shrimp and Sauce

In a large bowl, add the marinated shrimp and pour the remoulade sauce over them. Toss gently to coat the shrimp evenly with the sauce.

  2. 8

    Serve

Transfer the shrimp remoulade to a serving platter or individual serving dishes. You can garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
