Method

Cooking the Spaghetti

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add 200g of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Add 400g of crushed canned tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  3. 6

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil before serving.

Preparing Garlic Bread

  1. 7

    Mix Butter and Garlic

In a small bowl, combine 100g of softened butter, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.

  2. 8

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on each half.

  3. 9

    Bake Garlic Bread

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and place the baguette halves on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Serving

  1. 10

    Combine and Serve

Serve the cooked spaghetti topped with the sauce. Accompany the pasta with slices of garlic bread on the side.
