Sides

  1. 1

    Prepare French Fries

Cut potatoes into thin strips. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C) and fry the potato strips until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt to taste.

  2. 2

    Make Garden Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and shredded carrots. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then toss gently. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Prepare Onion Rings

Slice onions into rings and soak in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper. Dip the soaked onion rings into the flour mixture, then deep fry in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Make Mashed Potatoes

Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste until smooth and creamy.

Drinks

  1. 5

    Prepare Soda

Chill the soda in the refrigerator. Serve in cups with ice if desired.

  2. 6

    Make Lemonade

In a pitcher, mix freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, and sugar to taste. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved. Serve over ice.

  3. 7

    Prepare Iced Tea

Brew tea bags in boiling water for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let cool, then add ice. Sweeten with sugar or honey if desired.

  4. 8

    Serve Water

Provide chilled bottled water or fill a pitcher with cold water. Serve with ice and lemon slices if desired.
