Base Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Base

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs and then add 1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of melted unsalted butter. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a crown-shaped cake pan with butter or non-stick spray.

  5. 5

    Pour Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared crown-shaped cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorating the Cake

  1. 8

    Prepare Icing

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Add a small amount of milk, a teaspoon at a time, until you achieve a spreadable consistency.

  2. 9

    Color the Icing

If desired, add 3 drops of food coloring to the icing and mix until evenly colored.

  3. 10

    Ice the Cake

Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the icing over the top and sides using a spatula or a knife.

  4. 11

    Add Glitter

If using, sprinkle edible glitter over the icing for a festive touch.

  5. 12

    Serve

Slice the cake into pieces and serve. Enjoy your Fake Fashion crown cake!
