Method

Prepare the Fries

  1. 1

    Cook the Fries

Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Spread the fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 2

    Bake the Fries

Bake in the preheated oven for the time specified on the package, typically about 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. Stir halfway through for even cooking.

Prepare the Hot Pastrami

  1. 3

    Heat the Pastrami

While the fries are baking, place the sliced pastrami in a skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle with black pepper and cook until heated through, about 5-7 minutes.

Make the Coleslaw

  1. 4

    Mix Coleslaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the vegetables are coated with the dressing.

  2. 5

    Chill the Coleslaw

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Russian Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika until smooth and well combined.

Assemble the Capastrami Fries

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and layer them on a serving platter. Top with heated pastrami, shredded Swiss cheese, a generous scoop of coleslaw, and drizzle with Russian dressing. Serve immediately.
