Brownie Layer

Method

Brownie Layer

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brownie Batter

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and 0.5 cups of brown sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Whisk in the 3 eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 0.75 cups of cocoa powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.

  4. 4

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Spread the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.

  1. 5

In a large bowl, cream together 0.5 cups of unsalted butter, 0.75 cups of granulated sugar, and 0.75 cups of brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. 6

Add 1 egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

  3. 7

In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 0.5 tsp of baking soda, and 0.5 tsp of salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  4. 8

Fold in 1.5 cups of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

  5. 9

Spoon the cookie dough over the brownie layer in the baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  6. 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cookie layer is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 11

Allow the brookie to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before lifting it out using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve.
