Beef Preparation
- 1
Season the Roast
Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C). Rub the American Wagyu beef roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring an even coating across the entire surface.
- 2
Slow Roast
Place the seasoned roast in a roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast. Roast in the preheated oven until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, about 3-4 hours.
- 3
Rest the Roast
Remove the roast from the oven and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
Topping Preparation
- 4
Prep the Vegetables
While the roast is resting, wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomatoes and onions into thin rounds.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the sub rolls lengthwise. Spread a layer of mayonnaise on both sides of the inside of the rolls. Layer the sliced roast beef, followed by provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
Serving
- 6
Serve and Enjoy
Cut the assembled sandwiches in half and serve immediately while the cheese is still slightly melted and the beef is warm.
