For the Sandwich

Method

For the Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wagyu Beef

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the American Wagyu beef with black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef

Place the seasoned Wagyu beef on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of about 130°F (54°C).

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place the Swiss cheese slices on top of the beef and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Rolls

While the beef is cooking, slice the French rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on the inside of each roll.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Once the cheese has melted, remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the beef thinly and place it inside the prepared rolls.

For the Au Jus

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Heat the Au Jus

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. 8

    Serve

Once the Au Jus is heated, pour it into small bowls for dipping alongside the assembled French Dip sandwiches.
